She is a recent graduate of the masters program at The Juilliard School in New York, NY. PerformanceMs. Taylor has performed with the Pittsburgh Opera, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Concert Society, Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic (Pittsburgh, PA), Southeast Symphony (Los Angeles, CA), Carson Civic Light Opera (Los Angeles,CA), as well as the Opera Teatro di Lucca (Lucca, Italy). Most recently, Ms. Taylor performed the roles of Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Vitellia (La Clemenza di Tito), Miss Jessel (Turn of the Screw), and the partial roles of Female Chorus (Rape of Lucretia), Vanessa (Vanessa), Birdie (Regina), and Juliette (Roméo et Juliette) with the Juilliard Opera Theater (2002-2005). Her roles include Fox (Cunning Little Vixen), Madame Lidoine (Les Dialogues des Carmelites), Mother (Hänsel und Gretel), Sandman (Hänsel und Gretel), Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors), and Ninetta (The Love of Three Oranges). CompetitionsA winner of many competitions, Ms. Taylor placed 1st in the Leontyne Price Competition (Atlanta, GA) in 2005, 1st place in the 5 Towns Music and Art Foundation Scholarship Competition (New York) in 2004, 1st place in the Schloss Leopoldskron Recital Competition in August 2002 in Salzburg, Austria, 1st place in the Pittsburgh Concert Society Recital Competition in 2002 and 2000, and 1st place in the Southeast Symphony Performance Competition in Los Angeles, CA in 2001. ScholarshipsA winner of many scholarships, she has received the Carnegie Mellon Scholarship, BEEM Foundation for the Advancement of Music Scholarship, the Jester Hairston Foundation Young Musicians Scholarship, as well as a professional studies grant from the Pittsburgh Foundation. PerformanceMs. Taylor performed a very successful recital tour in Lithuania, as part of the Sugrizimai Festival (2005), one of the largest music festivals in the country. She recently returned from studying with world-renowned soprano Elly Ameling and pianist Rudolf Jansen at the Academie musicale de Villecroze (Villecroze, France), as a full scholarship recipient. Future engagements include Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle in New York (2005), recitals with the Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves in Bordeaux, France (2006), as well as international singing competitions in Spain and France. |
